Analogic Code

This picture of a bunch of apples (fruit) with symbols of Apple (the brand) on them is an example of analogic code. The fruit seems as if they grew naturally with the computer company's symbols on them. This is 1 of 2 photos I got from Google Images--the rest are pictures I've taken or drawn.

Symbolic Sign

This is a symbolic sign--at first it's hard to tell what it is, unless you know a bit of Hebrew. It's a Hebrew name (צִפּוֹרָה), drawn in a psychadelic patchwork style. Inside of each character are more signs--iconic, indexical, and symbolic.

Gestalt Theory - Continuation

The "puzzle" was the box from my cousin's birthday cake. I cut it into puzzle pieces and spaced them slightly apart to show the Gestalt theory of continuation. The mind puts the picture together.

Apparent Movement

This is part of a comic I drew (they don't look very good because I drew them at work when I was a goat yard attendant, so I drew fast and sloppy.) Those are goats, by the way. Anyway, while this can be an example of graphic movement, it is also an example of apparent movement. The goats on the right are running, and the little goat was flipped up in the air out of the way by the bigger goats. You'd have to see the whole comic to get what the commotion was about--they heard me opening a candy wrapper (true story).

One-point Perspective

The fence that the peacock is standing on shows one-point perspective. As the fence goes farther into the background, it appears to get smaller, with less detail.

Back Lighting

This example of back lighting shows a dark silhouette of a fiddler on a roof, with a light background. This effect is caused when light comes from behind the subject of the image.

Warm Colors

My cousin's 15th birthday party--everyone happened to be wearing warm colors for this photo, which I originally intended to be a social perspective photo. Then I realized I didn't need a social perspective photo. The middle is the birthday girl, with her mom and dad behind her.
